The retriever module was developed to support versionable XML catalogs. Support
is based on a writeable catalog model as well as a retriever functionality
which will retrieve the closure of XML documents while updating the project
catalog file.
<api name="org.netbeans.modules.xml.retriever" group="java"type="export" category="friend">
Supports downloading the closure of a set of schema and WSDL
documents.

<api name="org.netbeans.modules.xml.retriever.catalog" group="java"type="export" category="friend">
Supports resolution and creation of URI references based on
the XML Catalog.
</api>
The catalog is used within XAM based models with references such as
Schema and WSDL to locate imported files, which may be cached locally.
The retriever provides a way to cache all the needed files within a
project, using the semantics of the referenced files (inspecting imports to
determine what files are referenced).

The retriever provides the ability to close a set of related schema and
wsdl documents. The closure is calculated using the location attributes
and the retriever will attempt to access the reference files based on
these locations.
The direct user of the retriever would have code like:
<code>org.netbeans.modules.xml.retriever.getDefault().retrieveResource(destinationDir,
resourceToRetrieve);

resourceToRetrieve into the destinationDir directory using the default
location extractions for WSDL and Schema.
